Meet Brandi Tancemore

LCPC, NCC

Brandi Tancemore is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) at Equilibrium Mental Health. She received her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University, a CACREP-accredited graduate counseling program. Brandi’s therapeutic work is rooted in assisting children, families and adults in reaching their full potential emotionally, physically, and spiritually through Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

 

Through DBT, Brandi helps clients build emotional resilience and recognize their strengths while teaching additional tools to make lasting changes. Brandi is currently the coordinator of the HOPE clinic at the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI), a clinic responsible for the implementation of DBT. In addition, Brandi received her foundational training in DBT from Behavioral Tech. She has contributed to the KKI's Child Development and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities curriculum, a chapter entitled Treating Traumatic Stress Disorders in Children with Suicidality and Other High Risk Behaviors.  Brandi has strong professional experience in helping children and families navigate special education programming.

 

Brandi also offers other courses of treatment including Trauma Focused Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Treatment modalities are individualized to tailor the clients individual goals to allow for growth. Brandi creates a trusting, transparent, comfortable, and accepting environment while also working with the client to promote change
