Meet Gloria Seo

Gloria Seo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) and a Board-Certified Supervisor in the state of Maryland. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Gloria treats a wide variety of mental health issues and has a special interest in challenging and difficult to treat children and adolescents.

Gloria is active in providing trainings and speaking at conferences on topics related to mental health, particularly trauma. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and teaches the course Evidence-Based Mental Health Treatment with Children and Adolescents to advanced level social work graduate students.

Gloria’s clinical interest includes working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma, exhibit problematic sexualized behaviors, struggle with emotional and behavioral dysregulation, and exhibit suicidal or parasuicidal behaviors. Gloria utilizes evidence-based treatment models in her clinical practice. She is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She is trained in Safety, Mentoring, Advocacy, Recovery, and Treatment (SMART), a specific treatment model for children who experienced sexual abuse and are exhibiting problematic sexualized behavior. Gloria is certified in providing services in Korean through the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

Gloria is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician, the only certification endorsed by Masha Linehan, PhD, the treatment developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Gloria received her advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy from Behavioral Tech, the only training organization endorsed by Dr. Linehan. She also received direct training and consultation from the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Preadolescent Children (DBT-C), Francheska Perepletikova, PhD.
