Meet Casey Anderson

Casey Anderson received his Combined B.S. in Psychology: Clinical Concentration, Sociology, and Anthropology from Towson University and his M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Casey has professional experience in various settings including Level V nonpublic educational placements, partial hospitalization treatment, and outpatient mental health clinics. He is a certified Cognitive Diplomate through the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, nationally certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), nationally credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Casey’s primary clinic foci include treating children, adolescents, and families who exhibit extreme emotion dysregulation, suicidal/parasuicidal behaviors, disruptive problem behaviors, and trauma-related symptoms. He utilizes the following evidence-based treatment models in clinical practice: Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children and Adolescents, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Casey is also trained in a promising practice to address children impacted by sexual abuse who exhibit problematic sexual behaviors: Safety, Mentoring, Advocacy, Recovery, and Treatment (SMART). Mr. Anderson is interested in group psychotherapy for adolescents who experience LGBTQ+ cultural stressors. He has provided trainings about childhood traumatic stress at the local and state levels.

Casey is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician, the only certification endorsed by Masha Linehan, PhD, the treatment developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Casey received his advanced training in DBT from Behavioral Tech, the only training organization also endorsed by Dr. Linehan. Additional advanced trainings from Behavioral Tech include DBT Skills Training and DBT Skills Group for Adolescents and Families. Casey received direct training and consultation from the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C), Francheska Perepletchikova, PhD.
